Caps Fan to Get Tattoo of Brett Connolly Getting a Tattoo for Retweets

Washington Capitals fan Tyler Duchaine wants to take his fandom to a whole new level and will do so if he reaches his goal on Twitter. Many Capitals fans have Caps-inspired tattoos and with the team winning the Stanley Cup last season, some fanatics have the Cup or “Stanley Cup champions” tattooed. Duchaine wants his next ink art to be more unique though. In addition to fans, Capitals players got tattoos two nights after winning the Cup during their party around D.C. that weekend. He is hilarious! He gets right into it and isn’t afraid to call it like he sees it. That usually means he may also start a twitter-war — like with Alan May. Click here to read the full story.

It gets really funny when he tweets for us and answers as himself. Or when other members of the FiCP take him on.

Capitals: Best Tweets and IG of Thursday 4 Jan

We took a ‘it’s toooo cold’ hibernation day and skipped practice this morning. Lots of tweet updates for you below!

Capitals Practice

Niskanen is skating with the team, albeit in a no-contact Jersey. That’s a step forward. He didn’t last the full practice, which is not grand. Coach says all was planned and he is progressing according to that plan. Wait and see for Saturday.

Coach wants to keep changing it up during practice, especially with the long breaks they have between games.

And then….

Some changes in the net…

National Women’s Hockey Gets a Boost

Women in sports always seem to get short-changed when it comes to coverage. The National Women’s Hockey League (NWHL) has a staying power that is finally beginning to payoff.

It was announced today that Twitter will broadcast the 2017/18 NWHL season via live streaming!!!!

Here is the complete statement from Twitter as reported by Greg Wyshynski.

According to the NY Times: “The list of games to be available exclusively on NWHL.twitter.com or twitter.com/NWHL, will be announced in September. All other N.W.H.L. games will remain available for streaming on the league’s website.”

Stick Taps and Cheers Welcome Jay Beagle Back

Ketter Ice Plex erupted in cheers by the fans and tap sticks by the players as Jay Beagle joined the team for his first practice since injuring his hand on December 30, 2015.  Beags has been working with the trainers on the ice for some weeks now but today was the first day he was on the ice with the full team.
