Since it’s going to be a back-to-back against the Bruins. The Caps will two days later re-encounter their fans at Capital One Arena for the first time since winning the Cup. The Capitals are gonna play seven games, with three at home. After the first two games against the Bruins, away and home, on September 16 and 18, respectively; the Caps will have three straight road games. The first is in Quebec to visit the Montreal Canadiens on September 20. A interesting tidbit about this match is that it will be played at Videotron Centre in Quebec City, not at the Canadiens’ Bell Centre. This decision may be tied to a rumor about a new expansion franchise in Quebec.
Their sequence of away games continues on September 21 in Raleigh, North Carolina against the Carolina Hurricanes and their final preseason away game on September 25 in St. Louis, Missouri against the St. Louis Blues. The defending Stanley Cup champions’ last two games will be before their fans, at Capital One Arena, hosting the Hurricanes and Blues on September 28 and 30, respectively.
