We are big pet lovers. Many of us work with animals and we know the Caps have a special heart for dogs that they support through their canine calendars. Here are some of our favorites.
The Capitals support Homeward Trails Animal Rescue an organization dedicated to finding homes for dogs and cats in the DMV area.Be sure to pick up their annual calendar featuring Caps players and pets available for adoption.
We love Animal Rescue Corp, (ARC) a 501c3 nonprofit animal protection organization that takes direct action in three ways. First, they conduct rescues of animals who fall victim to abuse and natural disaster. Second, they create public awareness of animal suffering. Third, they offer training and assessments for animal shelters, professionals and volunteers.
Many pets are left at shelters and available for adoption with a minimal cost to families. We have worked with Fairfax Animal Shelter for years and encourage your support. You can offer funds to cover free adoption for designated pets. Just contact them. Our own handicapped Rufus came to us through the shelter.
