At Home with the Ovechkins: Isolating Just Like Us

The Coronavirus is keeping everyone home, including our favorite Washington Capitals player, Alex Ovechkin and his family. They may have a bigger house than most of us; however, they still have to stock up on groceries, deal with empty shelves, and find a way to exercise and keep healthy. Nastya Ovechkina, who is pregnant with their second child, does a great job of posting about Ovi and infant Sergei on Instagram so we don’t miss a thing!

The family hit up the local Harris Teeter to fill their cupboards and just like us, Nastya was surprised by the empty shelves. It looks like in the end they got what they needed for the household, which includes Ovi’s friend and trainer Pavel Burlachenko.

Apparently they caught some flack from a few followers about their full shopping carts. Mrs. Ovechkin explained:

We’re all on baby watch!

Some yummy dinner came out of those groceries!

Of course there is the normal stuff that goes with having an 19 month old in the house. Breakfast pancakes with dad!

And then there is TV, watching the Caps simulated games and picking out Papa on the ice! Could Sergei be any cuter?!!!

A bit of silliness as mom and dad play with Instagram: what Disney character are they??!

Taking the advice of the CDC- the Ovechkin’s are getting some fresh air walking around their McLean neighborhood.

Meanwhile, Sergei continues to grow into the family business, working on mastering the Ovechkin shot! His best friend, Blake, was keeping watch over him in the front driveway.

Dad got in some training time when fellow countryman-man Evgeny Kuznetsov joined Ovi in the backyard with Pavel. Not sure about the whole social distancing, but trust they all took good precautions.

Just like most of us, Ovi is participating in Zoom meetings. He was part of a great interview with PK Subban, Nick Foligno, and Anders Lee.

We close with a final look at one of the cutest Caps kids around, following in his daddy’s footsteps. lol!!
