We thought things would be relatively slow this summer for the Capitals. They had a few deals to negotiate but we had the sense that there would be no big changes to the roster. That is true, for the most part; however, the Caps did sign a slew of new players and the dust has yet to settle on who will be on the ice come October. Alexander Ovechkin: The Face of Global Hockey Named Ambassador

Anyone watching NHL hockey knows the name Alexander Ovechkin, especially if you are part of the Eastern Conference. He has inspired a new generation to become hockey players and hockey fans- especially in his homeland Russia. Jakub Vrana is Coming Back to the Capitals!

We can all breathe a sigh of relief now that the wait is over and the Washington Capitals have signed Jakub Vrana to a “two-year, $6.7 million contract,” according to senior vice president and general manager Brian MacLellan. The “bridge contract” will give Vrana a chance to prove he is an elite hockey player worth a long-term commitment and, hopefully, give the Caps time to sort out the mess they have made of the salary cap.
