Capitals Giving Us Those Playoff Feels

From the streets outside of Capital One Arena to the seats inside, there was a familiar buzz of playoff excitement. FiCP was there to catch all the energy in the atmosphere. It was another nail-biter game and yet fans seems confident that the Capitals would walk away with a win and the Caps did not disappoint. The match against the Carolina Hurricanes went to OT and Brooks Orpik became the star of the night with the OT goal!

Even before the game started, fans were rocking the red, lined up and cheering to get in to witness history in the making.

Once inside fans got to see Nick Backstrom repeat his performance from Thursday with the first goal of the night. TJ Oshie made it 2-0 Washington and Lucas Wallmark turned it into a 2-1 game by the end of the first.

It was just so much fun all afternoon and into the evening.

The second period felt a lot like game one – full of struggle. Sebastian Aho got on the board to tie it up 2-2. Come the third period and Tom Wilson added a goal which Jordan Staal answered with one of this own to tie it up again. 3-3 as the third period ended.

Into Overtime the Caps and Canes went. Orpik did his thing – surprising darn near everyone. The CELEBRATION was great.

Outside the fans exploded onto the street. Cheers of BACK TO BACK could be heard for miles – we’re sure.

Off to Raleigh go the Caps to hopefully win two more!
