Today I went to KeyBank Center for the game. While the game itself was painful, the stadium was a pretty nice venue to watch a game. There was a very decent variety of food options and the food itself was good for arena food. I ordered a roast beef sandwich that was tasty and I enjoyed the food I stole from my parents as well.
The building itself was modern. The front area let in a lot of light and had a nice view. It also was very convenient for people staying at the Marriott as it had a tunnel through the garage so we weren’t directly outside in the chilly Buffalo air for long. The buildings restrooms had female and male figures with hockey sticks which were a fun touch.
The stadium seating area where I sat, section 302, had clear views of the game but it lacked two semi-important things cup holders and the stadium had no on-ice projector. I can forgive the projector but no cup holders? They are fixtures at sports games!
I found it interesting that they did both the Star Spangled Banner and Oh Canada despite both teams playing being American. This was likely because many fans crossed the border to watch but this was also really cool.
The fans were friendly despite there being a significant Caps crowd. All in all, I would recommend it but only if you were in the area otherwise.
