The Washington Capitals defeated the Ottawa Senators for the second consecutive Saturday 3-2 in Ottawa to win their fourth game in a row. This big road victory had a couple of milestones for two young defensemen Tyler Lewington and Madison Bowey. Each notched their first career NHL goals, the first time in Capitals franchise history that two defensemen scored their first NHL goals in the same game.

Lewington not only scored his first career goal but also notched a Gordie Howe hat trick. Lewington started that with an assist on the game’s first goal. First Tom Wilson scored his 11th goal of the season to put the visitors up early.

Bowey got, well I can’t tell what that is. It looks like a protein shake or something. Whatever it was it got poured on his head during the postgame interviews.
