The 38-year old defenseman has one goal and one assist in 10 games. The lone goal came in the overtime loss against Pittsburgh in the second game of the season while the assist came on banner night. His last game occurred on October 27 in a win over the Calgary Flames where the Caps took it 4-3 in the shootout.
Orpik was brought back on July 24 after the Colorado Avalanche bought out his contract after the Caps traded him along with goalie Philipp Grubauer.
Orpik has embraced the role of a leader on a young blue line where he mentored the likes of Christian Djoos and Madison Bowey among others. Bowey has filled in for him.
