After a big win on Monday night in Vancouver, the Caps continue their four-game road trip tonight in Edmonton against Connor McDavid and the Oilers. Puck drop is at 9:00 p.m. on NBC Sports Washington. The Stanley Cup ring tour made another big stop! After Jay Beagle got his ring, it was Alex Chiasson’s turn. Making the Capitals last year on a PTO, Chiasson was instrumental in the bottom-six forward corps.
Chiasson will be remembered for a Game 6 goal in Pittsburgh coming off the pass of Nathan Walker. It put the Caps 1-0 in a game which later led to Evgeny Kuznetsov’s overtime goal to get the Caps to the elusive third round.
The Caps presented Chiasson his ring at morning skate.

Evgeny Kuznetsov vs. Connor McDavid
These two superstars are stud centers for their respective teams. Evgeny Kuznetsov was one of the key contributors to the Caps run to the Cup. If Alex Ovechkin didn’t win the Conn Smythe the trophy likely would’ve gone to Kuzy, as he led the team with 20 assists and 32 points. This season he is in a four-way tie for first on the team in points. He is tied with John Carlson for first in assists with eight. The two are also second on the team with five goals. Another reason to keep an eye on him tonight is that he seems to have great games against the Oilers. He had a hat trick in the old building three years ago.
Connor McDavid, the number one pick in the 2015 NHL Draft, has been behind the rebuilding in Edmonton. He hopes to take them back to the playoffs this season after the team missed the postseason last year. He leads the team with five goals and eight assists (13 points). The Oilers are coming off an overtime loss to the Penguins. Yes Sidney Crosby vs. Connor McDavid is a draw for hockey fans but so is this matchup between Kuznetsov and McDavid.
