It is a dreary Saturday in early October, but that will not deter the Hershey Bears fan from participating in their first Red Carpet Event, before the 81st Season of hockey in Chocolatetown!
The fans welcomed new comer Mike Sgarbossa, styling Beck Malenstyn.
Another new comer Jeremy Morin signing autographs.
Conner Hobbs was a very popular player.
Liam O’Brien took the longest to get through the fans, he then scored the first goal of the season.
Riley Barber was a close second, but Colby Williams had the best smile for fans. Tyler Lewington also with a great smile.
Maxi Kammerer looking very distinguished and an Alternate captain Aaron Ness.
Jonas Seigenthaler, Tobias Geisser and Axel Johnson-Fjallby signing autographs for the fans.
Lucas Johansen chatting with a young fan and new comer Derek Hulak, Mason Mitchell one of the final players taking his time signing and chatting. A great smile from the last player Hampus Gustafson.
In front of 10,066 fans, Liam O’Brien and Mike Sgarbossa goals weren’t enough to beat the Crunch in an opening night 3-2 loss. I wasn’t sure what to expect with so many new players but this team shows a lot of promise and some time together and they will be a very good hockey team.
It is great to have hockey back in Hershey. Sunday loads of Capitals fans will be driving up for Capitals Night and to share the Stanley Cup with the Bears. According to the press release:
The Bears will wear Capitals themed jerseys that will be auctioned off after the game. All fans will have the opportunity to have their picture with the Stanley Cup during the course of the evening. So if you missed the Cup at Capital One Arena or MedStar Capitals Iceplex in June, now is your chance.
