Hershey Bears center Zach Sill signed a contract with HC Sparta Praha of the Czech league on Monday. Sill played ten games with the Washington Capitals during the 2015/16 season. He previously played for the Penguins and Maple Leafs. Caps fans may remember him from his two-game suspension after boarding Adam McQuaid in January 2016.
Zach came to the Bears in July 2015 after signing a one-year deal with the Capitals franchise. The Caps extended his contract for two more years in June 2016. He was an unrestricted free agent this summer and was not tendered an offer from the Caps.
During three seasons with the Bears he played 206 games and scored 23 goals and 37 assists. The alternate captain always brought enthusiasm to the ice in Hershey and was well respected by fans and teammates.
