The Official Big Tuna Gets a New Contract

Liam O’Brien was set to enter into salary arbitration on 23 July; however, it won’t be necessary as he has a new contract! The Capitals announced Friday that he has signed a one-year two-way contract for $650,000. He has been with the franchise since October 2104.

With this agreement, the Capitals can make use of Liam in Washington DC or in Hershey, PA with the Bears. He will likely try-out for the center spot left open with the release of Jay Beagle from the roster. He only played three games with the Caps last season, spending most of his time in Hershey.
