Its was GAME FIVE and Caps fans were everywhere watching the game -and anticipating the WIN!

Capital One Arena was full of fans – many who arrived early for a Mystics game to secure their viewing party seats.

Outside 7th Street, NW was full of fans dressed in all kinds of RED.

The bars and restaurants were at capacity – some people arrived as early a 2 pm to secure tables!

New and old friends were ready for this game. Vegas may be where the game was playing but you couldn’t tell that the way fans have turned out.

Ovie the Bulldog and his dad showed up for one final visit. We are pretty sure he has something to do with the win!

Some have never even seen the Caps play live, some have only been to a practice at Kettler, and still others were just enjoying the idea that the DMV might have a championship win. And the media was out in full force to capture history in the making.

The Stanley Cup Finals has shown off some of the best elements of this truly diverse city. The Caps Hockey Family opened its arms wide and welcomed everyone into the group.

And now we prepare for the HUGE parade to celebrate a victory the DMV has longed to see. All are welcome. Caps owner Ted Leonsis expects it to be a celebration the likes of which we have never seen.

Thank a Metro-Police officer for keeping us safe. See you again real soon!

Thanks Velvet Venters Jackson and Brittney Marcum for all the great pictures.
