A lot of us have been caught off guard! We are so accustomed to heading off to vaca in May because the season is over. Lots of fans and season ticket holders (STH) already have family vacations planned and will be missing part of the Caps run at the Stanley Cup.
The Stanley Cup Final schedule was released earlier in the week. Dates were set and it was just a matter of who would have home ice advantage. In this case, the Vegas Golden Knights (VGK) have the advantage and should we go seven rounds- the final round will be in the desert.
Stanley Cup Final Round
Game 1: Monday, May 28 at Vegas
Game 2: Wednesday, May 30 at Vegas
Game 3: Saturday, June 2 at Washington
Game 4: Monday, June 4 at Washington
Game 5 (if necessary): Thursday, June 7 at Vegas
Game 6 (if necessary): Sunday, June 10 at Washington
Game 7 (if necessary): Wednesday, June 13 at Vegas
All games are set for 8pm ET and will air on NBCSN or NBC.
Some season ticket holders have already listed their seats in Stubhub and the Ticketmaster resale app. Prices are starting around $800 for the upper level to up to $2500 for lower bowl, non-VIP seats. Pre-sale of the remaining tickets for STH and partial-plan holders will likely go on sale by Friday and then be open to the general public. Hopefully fans will be able to find affordable seats for this special time in Caps history.
For those thinking of heading to Vegas, prices are running about the same on the resale market. VIP seats can cost a pretty penny – maybe $5000?!!
Both the teams and their fans are seeing a dream come true. It certainly is worth the investment. Let’s hope that the Capitals will provide some great opportunities for those fans unable to make it into the arena to celebrate this amazing time in NHL history!!
Go CAPS Go!!!!
