Jill Sorenson Gets a New Gig

One of our all-time favorite Capitals beat reporters, Jill Sorenson, has a new job. And it isn’t in sports! She revealed to us this morning that she is starting an exciting new career as Director of Marketing and Business Development in the commercial construction industry. Jill told us “This is an awesome move for my career, a great professional challenge, and so amazing for my family life.”Jill will be sharing her talents with a great group of companies including: Capitol Drywall, Potomac Surfaces, Selective Demolition, Selective Hauling, and Selective Wrecking and Abatement. They are some of the most reputable companies in the area. Check them out!

This is one lady who always makes the best out of any situation and we couldn’t be more excited for her!

Jill had covered DC sports since 2000 when she worked with the great George Michael on NBC4. You know her from CSN shows like “Capitals Pregame Live” and “Capitals Postgame Live,” where she gave us some of the best player interviews ever. Her contract with Comcast CSN was not renewed in August 2017, amid cries of dismay across the DMV.

Read more in her interview with us when we first started covering the Caps. She has been one of our biggest supporters and we sorely miss her on the screen. We wish her much success on this new adventure and you never know…she might even write a piece here and there for us. Fingers crossed!

Go get ’em Jill!!!

Her official press release:

I am extremely pleased to announce that I am now Director of Marketing and Business Development for Capitol Select Companies: Capitol Drywall, Potomac Surfaces, Selective Hauling, Selective Demolition, and Selective Wrecking & Abatement. This represents a wonderfully new and exciting career development for me, and I am ecstatic to work for an amazing group of companies who operate under incredible leadership.
