Caps Beat Canucks in Regulation for Tenth Home Streak Win (game photos)

The Vancouver Canucks visited The Capital One Arena on Tuesday night. It was the perfect way to get over the cold of the past week…right???

The Capitals would extend their home winning streak to TEN with a 3-1 win.

Grubi was in the net. He was great. And the defense kept Boeser from scoring!

Caps Lines:

Ovechkin, Backstrom, Smith-Pelly

Vrana, Kuznetsov, Wilson

Connolly, Eller, Oshie

Stephenson, Beagle, Burakovsky

Djoos, Carlson

Orlov, Niskanen

Orpik, Bowey

Mel was there to get some great pictures for us. One of our favorite was a slightly banged up Andre Burakovsky with a new haircut! Unfortunately his game is still lagging with zero shots.

The first period went to the Caps favor. The Nucks Daniel Sedin scores first but John Carlson (Can we hear Norris??) scores first for the Caps. Lars Eller went all top shelf and scored second. Ovi, Backy, and Bowey all had an assist. 2-1 Caps at the end.

The second period got off to a hot start with a charming goal by Evgeny Kuznetsov- assisted by Nisky and Dina. His was the ONLY goal in the period. He was less the thrill with Al Koken

Third period excitement with Devante Smith-Pelly taking down Hutton after he elbowed Brooks Orpik. DSP took a major five for fighting and two more for ‘instigating .’ Connolly served the instigator penalty. No one else scored but that’s ok.

Vrana was dynamite with six shots –same as Tom Wilson. Saw some nice play from Orpik.

Here are some more of Mel’s photos from tonight.
