Oilers Walk Away with a Win in Debut for the Aussie

Nathan Walker made his Edmonton Oilers debut wearing #12 in a building where he scored his first NHL goal with our Caps. He was back at the Bell Centre in the media frenzied city of Montreal. While he’ll need some time to adjust to the system with his new club, he did bring some energy on his first skate with the Oilers. Lining up on the fourth line, he mostly brought his energy with five hits in just over 12 minutes of ice. Though he was -1 on the night the, Oilers came away with a huge win when they chased Carey Price from the net.

Walker certainly added some needed speed to the Oilers lineup and should get more ice then he ever would have received in DC. For that I’m grateful and hopefully he can make a name for himself in a Canadian hockey city where exposure will not be lacking. He’ll be well liked here in Northern Alberta for his lunch-pail attitude.

Looks like he’s back in for tonight vs the Toronto Maple Leafs. Go Oilers Go in that one.
