Capitals Make First Round of Cuts

The Washington Capitals announced the first round of cuts from training camp. The roster sits at 53 now.

Included are a number of NCAA and AHL players:

Garrett Pilon – Hershey/WHL

Kristian Marthinsen – Norway

Tanner Jeannot – WHL

Damien Riat – Switzerland

Dmitri Zaitsev – WHL

Beck Malenstyn – WHL

Mark Simpson – U of New Brunswick

Adam Morrison – goalie from ECHL

Brenden Semchuk – WHL

Robbie Baillargeon – NCAA

Jimmy Devito – NCAA

No real surprises at this stage of camp. We can expect more cuts after the Friday and Saturday games.
