Caps Down the Jets One More Time: Photos from the Game

The Washington Capitals met the Winnipeg Jets for a second time this week. The Caps weren’t at their best, but it didn’t matter. They had their Captain in charge and he finished the exercise with one last wallop of a goal, ending the game 4-3 in OT.

Here are some great pictures by Mel Abernethy from the thrilling end (ok, we know it wasn’t as exciting as the World Series tie but we still had fun!!)

So Marcus Johansson took the night off and let the other team stars do a bit of the heavy lifting on the scoreboard.

That left plenty of room for Nick Backstrom, TJ Oshie, and Alex Ovechkin to get the job done.

Did we mention that it was third jersey night? Yup – and we still like this option the best!

But really, it was all about getting the team in the right position to score against the Jets at the right time. Check back after morning skate on Saturday and we will know who is in and who is out (Chorney and Winnik??)  We’ll see if coach is still happy with the structure of the top two lines which have worked pretty well so far.

Any way…here a few more shots to hold you over:
