Oh Captain: Lily Dishes on Ovi

The Capitals have many stars: a few examples are Braden Holtby, T.J. Oshie, Evgeny Kuznetsov, and John Carlson. Many argue no star shines brighter then left winger, Alexander Ovechkin. He has scored over 500 goals with a career average of 47.72 goals per year. In the more recent season he usually gets closer to 50 goals. He is a consistently good player during the season. Those Goofy Washington Capitals Faces are Back Too

Justin Williams

All but two of the Washington Capitals are now back from the World Cup of Hockey 2016. Ok, three if you count coach Trotz. Training camp continues this week while the team waits for the return of Braden Holtby and Phillip Grubauer.

One of the best parts of watching the Caps players is catching those great expressions they make. They never disappoint. So, we have the tongue pictures. No one does it better than Tom Wilson: Continue reading “Those Goofy Washington Capitals Faces are Back Too”

The Russians are Back…The Russians are Back!!!

World Cup of Hockey 2016 didn’t go so well for Team Russia–although they made it further than Team USA.

Alex Ovechin,

Dmitry Orlov,

and Evgeny Kuznetsov

were back at Caps training camp today.

Meanwhile, Stan Galiev has been representing Russia while they were away…

As much fun as it was to watch them in World’s it is even better to have them home with us!!

Welcome back boyz!!

Two Losses?? Should we be Worried?

We are all wondering what the two losses in preseason means.

Should we be worried? The answer is no.

The easy enough answer of why not is that none of our stars are here. If we measure up the number of Hurricanes players and Canadiens players at the World Cup combined is six when we have nine players at the World Cup.

Right now the team has more rookies playing then normally. We lost a few games during preseason last year. We have only played two games and they lost one of the first two games with all the players and stars.

We will get our players back soon and then we will be better.

The Boys are Back! Day 1 in Photos

Today was no ordinary Friday, today was day one of the Washington Capitals 2016 training camp. The day was divided into three groups with Group White first, Group Red second, and Group Blue ending the day. There were a lot of new faces at camp so let’s run through those you might not be as familiar with.

And we could never forget those old familiar faces we’ve missed so much these past few months:

At the end of each session the players would participate in on-ice testing:

Dima Finally Signs with Washington Caps

watermarked photo 3 (2016-03-16-1148)

According to the Washington Capitals, Dmitry Orlov finally signed a one-year contract with them today (9/21/16). Dmitry, who is playing defense for Team Russia in the World Cup of Hockey this week, will make $2.57 with this new contract. A slight bump in salary up from $2.25 last year.

Orlov previously signed a two-year 4m$ contact in 2014. Unfortunately, an injury kept him side-lined for a good bit of that contract.  Continue reading “Dima Finally Signs with Washington Caps”
