Caps – Wild Pregame

GAME TIME IS 8 pm ET

The Minnesota Wild fell to the Dallas Stars Tuesday for their sixth loss in a row. They have also lost their last six games at home. Meanwhile the Washington Capitals have won their last four games and the last five of their six away games. The odds are in favor of the Caps taking their second win on this road trip.

Mike Richards may have tweaked something on Tuesday. He had a maintenance day Wednesday but no word regarding his status.

Caps Stars:

As the Caps go into their second game on the road we call your attention to some of the leaders who are keeping the team in the top place:

Marcus Johansson returned to the team with a BANG!! It seemed like he was everywhere on the ice Tuesday. He garnered a goal and an assist in his 13.27 minutes on the ice.

Andre Burakovsky keeps racking up the points; now he has recorded points in the last eight games.

Evgeny Kuznetsov is our own Russian Darling helping everyone to score. He is due a goal of his own soon.

Alex Ovechkin recorded his 31st goal and has three goals in his last five games. There is no denying what he brings to the team.

Braden Holtby leads the league with 33 wins on the season.

Injury Report and Team Scratches

Jay Beagle: He continues to recover. He continues to work with the coaches.

Brooks Orpik traveled with the team. No word on if or when he might actually play.

Wild Posture

Wild watchers are asking what is going on with their goaltending. Others suggest that the Wild are on a shooting slump.

Mikko Koivu leads the team in points (36) and has only two points in the last five games.

Zach Parise leads in goals (17) but hasn’t scored in his last six games.

Ryan Suter leads in team assists (27) and hasn’t scored since January 12—ten games since he had a goal and only four assists in the same time frame.
