Caps Add Another Center in Mike Richards

In case you missed it, the Washington Capitals have agreed to terms with Center Mike Richards. The deal amounts to 1 year, 1 million dollars. Mike Richards is 30 years old with 10 years of NHL experience. Richards was drafted by The Philadelphia Flyers in 2003. Most recently he played with the Los Angeles Kings from 2011-2015. He averaged 16:40 TOI with the Kings, racking up 133 points in his 257 games. Perhaps most notably Richards has multiple Stanley Cup Championships under his belt and could bring a new view to the Caps in that aspect. Caps GM Brian Macclellan said in his interview with Mike Vogel that they will have to see just where Richards fits in their lineup whether it be third or fourth line center or elsewhere. We will keep you updated as more information comes in regarding where/ when Richards will play. Welcome to Washington Mike!
